Mara passed into heaven's welcomed doors on September 22, 2008 after an 11-month fight with a rare form of pediatric brain cancer known as DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma).

Mara is survived by parents, Bryan and Heather, one brother Max and sisters Natalie and Katrina. Sister Sadie (named after Sadie Huish) was born 16 months after Mara's death.
