Robert D. Smith, 74, died at 4:20 p.m. Saturday at his home in Goliad after a long illness.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 20 at 2:30 p.m. at the Roy Thomas Funeral Chapel.
Interment was made in Glendale Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was an oil field worker before his retirement and had lived in Goliad for about 25 years.
Survivors are his wife, Lula, of Agua Dulce; four daughters, Mrs. J. T. McDonald of Bishop, Mrs. Ruth Newman of Goliad, Mrs. A. C. Catchings of George West and Mrs. Cecil Easter of Refugio; two sons, Alton of Goliad and Freddie of Agua Dulce; three sisters, Mrs. Claudia Slaughter and Mrs. Grace Slaughter, both of Goliad, and Mrs. Myrtle Taylor of Kerrville, 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
