George E. Butler Sr., 84, Lenexa, a former machinery company co-owner, died May 4, 1988, in the Lakeview Village nursing home, 9100 Park St., Lenexa.
Mr. Butler co-owned the English Brothers Machinery Co. for 23 years and was an officer and director before he retired in 1965. Earlier he worked for the Lapsley-Baker Lumber Co. for 20 years. After retiring, he was an accountant for George Butler Associates, Inc. - Consulting Engineers.
He was a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church and a former member of the Memorial Christian Church. He was a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute, Kansas City. He was a lifelong area resident.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Van Druff Butler of the home, two sons, George E. Butler Jr., Overland Park, and Kenneth V. Butler, Leawood, seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
