The relatives of Jasper Potter received word last Friday, March 1, that he passed away at Watonga, Oklahoma. He was the last of the five Potter brothers to go--Ira, John, George and Simpson- preceded him in death; also one sister, Mrs. Ola Hunter, and his parents.
Jasper Jason was the son of George T. and Margaret (Norris) Potter. He was born on a farm eight miles northwest of Unionville on August 2, 1881, and passed away in a hospital at Watonga, Oklahoma on February 21, 1963, being at the time of his death 81 years, 6 months, and 19 days of age.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Anna of Watonga, Oklahoma; two sons- George of California, and Roy of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter Mrs Margaret Eubanks of California and seven grandchildren; also he leaves one sister, Mrs Ida Wortz, nieces and nephews, one brother-in-law, Jesse Hunter, and three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ira Potter, Mrs. George Potter and Mrs. Simpson Potter, all of Unionville.
Jasper had a sunny disposition and made friends very easily. At the age of 19 years he went to Oklahoma where he spent the remainder of his life. He came back to his old home here in Putnam county many times through the years to visit his relatives and friends. His friendly visits will be sadly missed.
Funeral services were held at Watonga on February 23, 1963 and the buriel was in a cemetery near his farm home.
