He was a son of William L. and Anna Cristina (Kretchman) Winget.

He married Garnet Dooley, who he survived.

Surviving are four sons, Howard Jr., Elida, and William, Robert and Jerry, all Celina; three daughters, Anna (Don) Hammons, Rushmore, and Elizabeth (Glenn) Stults and Jovetta Winget; sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services were in Vale-Stein-Lehman Funeral Home.
