D: Feb 11 1906: Amariah Hagerman came from Pa. with the Grays. He either walked or rode a horse. the Grays had a covered wagon. The Hagerman and Grays settled in Linn County among the first people there. from the bible of Deloris M Pickins 442 Fairwin Okla. Amariah Hagerman's father is buried at Newbury Pa. Close to William port. The Gray's were English, Hagerman's German. Sanford Hagerman! Was a Wheel wright, in Smydersville Pa. carriages, wagons, sleds, corn shellers. The wheel wright shop did the wood work on the implements then they went to John Stack's house across the way for iron parts, runners,gears etc. The iron came from the Marsh's foundry near by kind of a closed in community business noted for meticulous and quality work. The wood used for spokes, runners etc-was cured for a whole year. George Hagerman (Drover) of Monroe County and later with Palmer Butchers of Stroudsberg. Drovers took herds of cattle to pasture away from home in the spring and brought them back in the fall. Buying stock going both ways and selling surplus at city markets in the fall. In the early 1800's.
