WINNSBORO, April 3 — (Special) — Dougle Humphries, 65, prominent Franklin parish farmer of the Lone Cedar community, died late Monday night in [a] local hospital after suffering a stroke.

Humphries was found unconscious by members of his family about 9 p.m. at the barn. He had evidently suffered a stroke and been unconscious for about two hours. He had been working on his farm earlier in the day.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lone Cedar Baptist church with the Rev. Bobby Brown, pastor, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Jessie Hawthrone [sic Hawthorne].

Burial will follow in the Lone Cedar cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral home of Winnsboro.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Sara Humphries of Winnsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Gwin, of Winnsboro; one son, Leland Humphries of Defiance, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. M. L. Hallman, of Vicksburg, Miss.; four brothers, C. W. Humphries, of New Orleans, Mason Humphries and Farrell Humphries both of Union Church, Miss., and J. D. Humphries, of Baskin; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
