VALLEY - Mrs. Clessie Mae Freeman, 91, of Valley died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 at Lanier Memorial Nursing Home in Valley.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Mike Densmore officiating. Burial followed at Fairfax Cemetery.

Mrs. Freeman is survived by her daughter, Virginia (Arthur) Moody of Montgomery; a son-in-law, Clark Jenkins of Valley; four grandchildren, Mike and Mark Moody and Jeff and John Jenkins; four great-grandchildren; and one sister-inlaw, Annie Latham.

Born Dec. 8, 1915 in Clay County, Mrs. Freeman was the daughter of the late Iona Luker Latham and Charles M. Latham. She was a retired employee of WestPoint Pepperell's Fairfax Mill and was a member of Fairfax United Methodist Church. Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Jenkins; her husband, May G. Freeman; her grandson, Jim Jenkins; her brothers, Barney, Brenton, Brewer and Elmer Latham; and her sister, Kythie Woodruff.

The family respectfully declines the honor of flowers and asks that memorials be made in her memory to Fairfax United Methodist Church or to a charity of one's choice in her memory.

The family received friends Saturday, Aug. 18 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
