This grave is located on the east side of the cemetery, down a slope and quite far away from all of the other stones in the cemetery.

Mount Zion Cemetery is 5 1/2 mi. NW of Macomb, OK, ½ mi. west of State Highway 102 on the left side of the road. It is located in the middle of a densely wooded field. There is no road and to reach it you have to cross over a fence and wind your way through the woods, crossing Jim Creek. It is a difficult trek best attempted in the winter.Obedience Claywell Waldrup/Wardrup is my great grandmother. My father left when I was young but I have a page from his bible which states Obedience was his grandmother and that she was the daughter of Simon and Martha Jane Waldup. I have found it spelled many ways. Obedience married Samuel Williams who was 23 years older. He was married previously to Sarah Kitchen/Kitchens and to Jane Gilbreath. He had children by all three wives. My dad and his sister said Obedience was very prim and proper and that her father was from England. Any help with this family would be most appreciated. In 1880 she is in Ellis Co TX with her children.
