"Mrs. Lulu Caldwell Davis, who had been ill for the past three years with cancer, died Sunday morning at 10:30 at her home at 407 East Jefferson Street here.

Funeral services are to be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Davis & Wilson Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. B. N. Covert, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be made in the Llewellyn Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis, who was born at Caldwell (now Dixie), Callaway County, Missouri, a settlement named for her family and owned by them, had been a resident of Kirksville for the past 30 years. She was the daughter of John Boyd and Sallie Howe Caldwell. She was married Jan. 28, 1892 to Dr. Samuel S. Davis of Fulton, Mo., who died on Dec. 27, 1904, in Kirksville.

Mrs. Davis was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Star and had held memberships in the Daughters of the American Revolution and Sojourners Club. She was a past worthy matron of the O.E.S.

Surviving are six sisters, namely: Mrs. J. A. Bushnell of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Grant Corbin of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Margaret, Etta, May and Dola at home here." Kirksville Daily Express (Kirksville, Missouri), October 29, 1934
