Norman R. Shine, 62
LEBANON BOROUGH -- "Pogo" Norman R. Shine, 62, of Lebanon Borough died Friday (Nov. 17, 2006) at the University Hospital in Philadelphia.
He was born May 4, 1944, in Somerville, and he had lived in Oldwick before moving to Lebanon 35 years ago.
He was the son of the late Victor and Ann Kostreba Shine.
He served with the U.S. Army in the early 1960s in Korea, where he served as a border guard. He had worked in construction for many years, working for H.M.S. Excavation in Lebanon and Brinkerhoff Enterprises out of Pittstown.
He was a Lebanon Borough fireman. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Bowing team out of Oldwick, and he enjoyed helping friends and neighbors.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, JoAnn Amerman Shine; a daughter, Jennifer Lyn Savage, and her husband Anthony Carmine Savage of Hellertown, Pa.; one brother, Victor Shine Jr. of Jamestown, Pa.; one sister, Barbara Cicero of Stanton, N.J.; and one granddaughter, Madeline Savage.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday , with a Firemens pass thru at 8 p.m. at the Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, Lebanon, N.J.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Round Valley United Methodist Church in Lebanon Borough. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Lebanon Borough.
