Rev Issac Newton Rimer, born Grayson Co. VA, where first wife, Nellie Ward, died leaving a baby boy. Moved to Tennessee, married Rause Catherine Couch and served in Civil War CSA. Ordained Baptist Minister. Traveled by train with wife and younger children to Texas to preach. Left three married children in Tennessee. Younger daughter, Mary Lavina Rimer Mattox, remembered her older sisters running along the train track crying as the train pulled out. She never saw them again. Many people in the Cundiff area of Jack County, Texas, remembered and talked about you preaching there in the brush arbor. Moved on to mission fields in Oklahoma.

Isaac served in the CSA during the Civil War. He became a Baptist preacher in Tennessee and felt called to preach in Texas. He came by train with his wife and younger children. They left three married children in Tennessee, a son and two daughters. He preached in Texas a number of years before moving to Cement, Oklahoma, where a son, Marion Columbus Rimer, also became a Baptist preacher.
