HOBART, Nov. 21. -- Funeral services for John W. Harms, 69, of Hobart, former Hobart township assessor and trustee, will be held in Trinity Lutheran church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Leonard Pranschke will officiate. Burial will be in Hobart cemetery.
Harms, life-long resident of this community, died at his home yesterday after a long illness. He was township assessor for 11 years and trustee for eight years. He also operated a dairy here for 19 years.
Surviving are the widow, Sophia; one son, Lester of Crown Point; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Mills of Hobart; granddaughter; his mother, Mrs. Henry Harms of Hobart; brother, Herman of Hobart; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Harvey and Mrs. Edward Niksch, both of Hobart.
