Julia Tschida, 92 of Salem, died Monday. She was born in Darinvar , Yugoslavia, and moved to Salem in 1946. She loved to garden and raise flowers, and she loved charities and her church. Her husband, Michael, died in 1981.
Survivors include her daughter, Dolores of San Diego, Calif.; sons David of Kalispell, Mont., and Dan of Salem, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visiting will be from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Rigdon-Ransom Colonial Chapel. Rosary will be 1:30 p.m. Friday with services following at 2 p.m., both at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where she was a member. Interment will be 3 p.m. Friday at Restlawn Cemetery, with reception following at Carrows Restaurant, 2840 Commerical St., SE.
Age Calculation: Julia was 92 years, 11 months, and 21 days of age when she died.
