Jeffery R. Brewton, age 51, a native of Milton, FL resided in Lagos, Nigeria at the time of his passing on Saturday, September 27, 2008.
Jeffery was a life-long member of Isaiah Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. He graduated from Milton High School in 1975, and he received a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Tuskegee University in 1980. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Jeffery was employed as a Mechanical Engineer with Gulf Oil Company from 1980 until 1985, and with Chevron from 1985 until his death. Throughout his tenure with Chevron he had the opportunity to work in six continents. Jeffery enjoyed many sports and he was an avid golfer.
Jeffery was preceded in death by his father, Porter Brewton, Jr.; grandparents, Porter, Sr. and Emma Nelson Brewton; and James Sr. and Eva Cawthon Walls.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Isabelle Lisasi Brewton, of Lagos, Nigeria; two sons, Jeffery Brewton, Jr., of Orlando, FL and Darren Brewton, of Gainesville, GA; a daughter, Arundrel Hamilton, of Pensacola, FL; his mother, Raymonde Brewton, of Milton, FL; four brothers, Alfred (Venita) Brewton, Larry (Carolyn) Brewton, Fredrick Brewton, and Dwayne Brewton, all of Milton, FL; five sisters, Yvonne Gray, of Pensacola, FL, Emily (Murray) Hamilton, Michelle (Noah, Sr.) Parker, and Myra Ewing, all of Milton, FL, and Deniece (Hervey) Griffin, of Mableton, GA; step mother-in-law, Marie-Ann Ghobert; ten brother/sister-in-laws, Jean-Marie Lisasi (Stephanie), Hubert Lisasi-Filoti (Gertrude), Francine Lisasi Tangu (Andre), Gabrielle Lisasi (George K.), Alain Lisasi (Elizabeth), Francis Lisasi (Brigitte) Noelle Lepage, Marilou Lisasi (Charlie B.), Nicole Lisasi-Lepage et (Jean-Claude), and Henry Lisasi (Denhyz). These in-laws reside in the following locations: Belgium, France, U.K., South Africa, R.D.C., Somalia, and U.S.A. Three aunts, Elizabeth Brewton, and Lois Walls, of Milton, FL, and Joanne Walls, of Hyattsville, MD; two great-aunts, Alice Nelson and Bertha Larkins, of Milton, FL; one great-uncle, Curtis Cawthon, of Omaha, NE; god-mother, Charlie Mae Kennedy, of Milton, FL; and numerous nieces, newphews, cousins and other relatives, special friends and co-workers.
The family extends a special thanks to Chevron for their support during Jeff's brief illnes and passing.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 3, 2008 from 7:00-8:00 PM at Isaiah Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, 5038 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Milton, FL 32570. Service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 11:00 AM, at First Baptist Church of Milton, 6797 Caroline St., Milton, FL 32570 with Rev. Victor Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in Milton-Keyser Cemetery, Milton, FL. Arrangements are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
