"Miss Starke was burned December 5 while preparing to retire. She tried to turn off the gas in a grate and turned the knob the wrong way. The flames leaped out and ignited her garments, which burned from her body.
Miss Starke was a pupil at Girls High School. She resided at 2103 Grand Avenue with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Starke. The body was taken to the chapel of John H. Miller. Burial will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in Cave Hill Cemetery."
