Died, at the family residence, South Second street, at 3:15 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, 1904, after a lingering illness, of pulmonary tuberculosis, Edward C. Ives, aged 31 years, 1 month and 16 days.

Perhaps no other young man in this city was better known than Edward Ives, as he was born and raised here and easily, by his kindly disposition and good character, won his way to the hearts of innumerable friends, who will be grieved to hear of his early demise. Mr. Ives was for a number of years baggagemaster of the Wabash railroad in this city and later was employed by the Franklin Life Insurance company in their offices in this city, where he soon became a favorite among his fellow employes.

Mr. Ives is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ives, and his wife, Gertrude Nickey Ives, all of this city.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon. - IL State Register, Springfield, IL, 12-2-1904
