Lloyd "Babe" Lawrence, 83, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at a Fort Worth hospital.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home, 101 N.E. Fourth Ave., Mineral Wells. Interment: Whitt Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Lloyd Lawrence was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Parker County, the son of the late Willy and Ann Tona Tinker Lawrence. He attended school in Whitt and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Babe was awarded the Purple Heart and twice received the Bronze Star. In 1951, Babe moved to San Angelo, where he resided until 1960. Babe made his career as a farmer in Whitt.
Babe was preceded in death by his wife, Inis Lawrence; parents; sister, Ruthie Myrtle Massey; and brothers, Arlen Lawrence and Willy Dalton Lawrence.
Survivors: Nephews, Lyndon Massey and wife, Deborah, Lloyd D. Lawrence and Roger Lawrence; cousin, June Ruel; great-nephews, Danny and Shane Massey; and special friends, Larry and Pam Neill.
