Margaret Ellen McClain, daughter of Thomas McClain and Sarah Denton or Denlow. Married 14 Sep 1876 Lucas County, Iowa to George Washington Stotts. Children: Calla Stotts, Edith Mae Stotts, Charley Stotts and Fred Stotts.

Mrs. Margaret Ellen Stotts, 75 years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edith Clark, 217 Oakwood Avenue, Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mrs. Stotts is the wife of G. W. Stotts and together have lived in Ottumwa for the past fourteen years with Mr. and Mrs. Hal Clark. She is survived by her husband, one son, Fred E. Stotts of San Antonio, Texas, one daughter, Mrs. Clark and five grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded her in death several years ago. The body was taken to the Daggett Funeral chapel where friends may call until Saturday morning, when it will be taken on Burlington train No. 3 to Woodburn, the family home where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. from the Methodist Episcopal Church in charge of the Rev. Mr. Larrick. Interment will be made in the Woodburn cemetery. The family will return to Ottumwa Saturday night.
