Helen Marie Rose Lindwall

Lindwall Helen Marie Rose Lindwall entered into rest with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, June 22, 2004. She was born in Bridgeport, daughter of Thomas and Susan Rose. She was a devoted wife of 49 years to the late George M. Lindwall. She resided in Fairfield for more than 60 years, where she was politically active in the Democratic Party and was past president of the Assumption Seniors. After many years of service, she retired from St. Vincent's Medical Center, where she became program chairman of the St. Vincent's Retirees.

Our Mom will always be remembered for her integrity, spirit, determination and wit. Above all, her family was of most importance and filled her days and heart with great joy. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother and was very devoted to her family.

Left to celebrate her life are her daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Bob Hofmiller of Fairfield, Sharon and Bill Szturma of Stratford, Kathleen and Albert Smith of Easton, Theresa Lindwall Rivera of Stratford, and Karen and Joseph Cubbellotti of Trumbull; and her daughter-in-law, Marcia Lindwall of Fairfield. She was predeceased by her son, Dennis Lindwall. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Rose; and sisters, Justine Pool and Susanne Kascak; and her sisters-in-law, Margaret Rose and Marie Rose. In addition to her son, she was predeceased by her brothers, John, Tom, Bobby and George Rose; and sister, Thedius B. Mickett. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to Susan Hofmiller Becraft, Robert Hofmiller, Christopher and Jason Lindwall and Amie Lindwall-Belile, Dawn Szturma Carlson and Scott and Shawn Szturma, Melissa Smith Davidson, Ashley, Albert and Nicholas Smith, Jorge and Jamie Rivera and Jennifer, Stephen and Alison Cubbellotti. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2004, at 8:30 a.m. in the Spear Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, and at 10 a.m. at Our Takacs of Assumption Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
