John W. Coffman Dies Of Hurts In Auto Smash
John William Coffman, 53, farmer "and saw mill operator of Shelby City, died at 6:15 a. m. Sunday in Ephraim McDowell Memorial hospital of injuries sustained in a two-car accident at 4:15 p. m. Saturday on the (Parksville road one mile this side of Mitchellsburg. " Born 'Feb. 4, 1906, in Casey county he had lived in Boyle county for 15 years. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Clara Johnson Coffman. who was slightly hurt in the accident; five daughters. Miss Bertie May Coffman, Shelby City; Mrs. William A. Daugherty, Mrs. Joe Raley and Mrs. Ray Tilman Belcher, all of Parksville, and Mrs. Kenneth Raley, Harrodsburg; one step-daughter, Miss Emma Jean Johnson, Shelby City; four sons, (see JOHN W. page six)

Shelby City; Vester Ray Coffman, Harrodstourg; Obert Coffman, Salem, Ohio, and Lindsey and Virgil Coffman, Youngstown, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Dillie Lewis, Parksville; Mrs. Elizabeth Grimes, Hebron, and Mrs. William Lamb, Covington; nine grandchildren and his mother, Mrs. Ida L. Coffman, Burlington. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon at Pleasant Run Baptist Church, with the Rev. W .G. Crossfield officiating. Burial will be in the Halls Gap cemetery. The body was removed - from Stith funeral home to the residence.

Infant son in just prior to her death born in Boyle County He was considered a miscarriage there was no burial May 1946.
Twin Girls were also considered a miscarriage-the date is unknown, my mother and My Aunt Birdie knew of this and relayed the information to me. However, my grandmother did bury them herself. She buried them at the Fairview Cemetery where she is buried in a small box at the base of a tree that stood by her father’s grave, John A Lewis. This tree was removed many years ago.
