RE: the cemetery for Abraham Laster:

The name changed over the years from Lassiter later Lasiter since 1850s - 60s it has been Laster. This is not my direct line but we have links to the Lasers through the Baskins, Martins, Frosts and Beans.

My mother is 89 and been doing research for over 40 years. She lived in Clarksville for many years and has been to both the Old Harmony and the Harmony Cemetery. Her documentation came from Baskin - Laster and Related Families by Dwight L. Baskin, The House of Boyer by Boyer, Baskin(s) Families South Carolina --Pennsylvania by Raymond Martin Bell Washington and Jefferson College, Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Western AR.

From her family sheets it shows Abraham Laster and wife Nancy D. Puckett Laster, along with his father Frederick and wife Nancy Smith Laster all bu. OLD Harmony cem. which is on the old Harl Coffee farm. Mother made copies of p. 49 and 50 -but did not note which book it came from. p. 49 shows Abraham Laster info with Nancy D. Puckett and says, "They are both buried in the Old Harmony Cemetery." Mother thinks this came from the book, "The House of Boyer". ALSO another copy from a book, that she didn't write the title on, says on p. 33 RE: Frederick Lassiter, "Frederick's home, in Johnson County, was located a short distance norhtwest of Old Harmony Cemetery and on the forty acres lying directly west of the Cemetery. Frederick and Nancy are buried in this Cemetery. The four graves directly east of the monument erected to Abraham and Nancy contain the bodies of Frederick and Nancy, Washington and Thomas who were their grandsons. Their burial order is unknown".

Also p. 34 RE: Abraham Laster, "Abraham Laster was one among the first settlers in Horsehead Township and was an extensive landowner. Harmony Church, School, Masonic Lodge , and both Cemeteries, old and the present one are on land that he owned. … Abraham Laster, born Mar 5, 1804 N.C. died Feb 2, 1862 Married Oct 8, 1824, Wilson County, Tennessee. Nancy D. Puckett, born April 24, 1802, VA died June 13, 1865. Both buried Old Harmony Cemetery. … Hope this helps to establish Old Harmony Cemetery as the resting place for Abraham Laster and wife Nancy D. Puckett along with his father, Frederick and mother Nancy Smith Laster.
