Leo W. Allen, 65, died at his home at 3:35a.m. today. He had been in poor health for eight years.
Mr. Allen was born June 1, 1898 in Shelbyville, the son of Stephen A. and Gertrude (Griffey) Allen. He had been employed as assistant manager of Gen Pro, Inc. before his illness and was a former employee of National Farm Machinery Co-Op. Mr. Allen had been active in the International Association of Machinists here and in the state for many years.
On Sept. 27, 1926, he married Fern Mount, and she survives, along with two daughters, Mrs. James (Carmen) Gerbino, Greensburg, and Mrs. Phillip (Patricia June) Polston, Shelbyville and two grandchildren.
Note: Two more grandchildren, Steve & Rebecca, were born after his passing.
