Mary Lawrence, 86, passed away Sunday, April 28, 1996 at Brazosport Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 1996 at 10 a.m. at Second Baptist Church of Lake Jackson, with Rev. Jim Way officiating. Interment will be at Ryans Chapel Cemetery, Diboll, Texas at 4:30 p.m.

Mrs. Lawrence was born in Angelina County, Texas on December 9, 1909. She spent her childhood in Diboll until she moved to Houston where she stayed until 1967, when she moved to Lake Jackson. She had a 38-year teaching career in Houston I.S.D. and B.I.S.D., where she taught 5th and 6th grades.

She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Lake Jackson.

Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo "Jody", and husband, Max Jones of Lake Jackson; four grandchildren, David H. Jones, Clifton T. Henson, Darrell G. Henson, Dwain T. Jones; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, J. E. "Boots" Weisinger of Lufkin; and three sisters, Lola Page of Mansfield; Helen English of Seagoville; and Winnie McNabb of Tucson, Ariz.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 29, 1996 at the Lakewood Chapel.
