Gwen Slayden was the fourth child born to Charles Benjamin Slayden and Effie Pearl Selby Slayden. Gwen's mother died eleven days after giving birth to her. Gwen married K. David Robinson on July 5, 1927. They had three children: Betty Eugenia, Mary Ann and David Courtney. Their daughters are both buried at Evergreen.

Gwen's obituary in the Paris News read: Born in Roxton, daughter of C.B. & Effie Selby Slayden. Married K. David Robinson. He died March 4, 1968. Was a member of First United Methodist Church. Attended Paris schools & graduated from Paris High School. She had sold ladies clothes at J.C. Penney, the Collegiate Shoppe, Bealls, The Fashion, The Parisian & later operated her own store, Gwen's of Paris. Surviving are a son, David C. Robinson of Garland; 10 grandchildren; a brother Phillip Slayden of Atlanta, GA., several great grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Johnson of Cooper.' *On the same stone with K. David Robinson. Buried next to Mary Ann Riskind.
