REV. JOHN KIER
Rev. John Anderson Kier died at Republic, Feb. 29, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 19 days. He was born at Sardinia, Ohio, May 10, 1835.
Rev. Kier was married to S.A. Kier of Ohio, Sept. 23, 1856. He enlisted in the 50th Ohio volunteer infantry in 1862.
In 1893 Rev. Kier and family moved to Republic where he continued to make his home until his death. He leaves an aged wife, four sons and three daughters. The funeral was held at the home, Sunday, March 2nd, conducted by the United Brethren pastor, Rev. A.W. Cortner. Burial was made in the Washington cemetery.
