Howard Fisher ran Fisher's IGA grocery store for many years in Cimarron, starting out in, what is now, the South side of Clark's Pharmacy. He later moved to a brand new building one block East of there. When the flood came through in 1965, Fisher's was the only building in town with electricity, because the flood wiped out the town's transformers, and Howard had his own generator. He teamed up with Jack Newsom in later years, and the store became Fisher/Newsom IGA.
