OBITUARY:
Sebastian Netscher was born in Wurtzburg (Wurzburg) Germany, June 05, 1847, and after serving in the Franco-Prussian war (1870's war), he came to America in 1873. In Sep. 1873 he settled in Pacific, Franklin County, Mo which has been his home ever since, where he served 17 years as alderman and 14 years as postmster, which is an enviable record as a public servant. In the year 1880 he was united in marriage to Miss Elvira Mayer (dau of John Christ. Mayer/Meyer) of Pacific, with whom he lived happily until her death July 14, 1926. Mr. Netscher died in the early evening of July 23, 1934, and leaves to mourn his death 3 children, Eugene C., Richard and Hilda and 5 grandchildren, Gene/Eugene R., Harold, Virginia (married Beckman), Vernon and Thelma, and nieces and a nephew. Mr. Netscher, being one of the oldest citizens of Pacific, will be missed by his relatives and many friends.
