Birth: Oct. 6, 1857
Death: Aug. 10, 1906

Son of Civil War Soldier Matthew L. "Jack" Lewis and his first wife Mary Ann Hansen Lewis. He first married Martha Jane "Mattie" Roper in Columbia County, AR September 18, 1878. They were the parents of Georgia Idella "Addie" and John Edgar Lewis. According to family stories, Charlie and Mattie divorced in the early 1880's. Charlie then remarried to another Mattie, Mattie Ethel Thompson in Union County, AR April 8, 1885. They were the parents of Hamp Smead, Roy P. and Nellie C. Lewis.
