Thomas J. Arbogast, 81, of 2143 Euclid Circle, Clearwater, Florida, formerly of Pottsville, Pennsylvania, died on Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Sabal Palms Health Center, Largo, Florida. Born in Frackville, May 17, 1917, he was the son of the late Samuel Arbogast and Ella (nee Mucklow) Arbogast Bohler.

He was a retired Air Force colonel serving from 1938 until 1970 with its Air Weather Service. After his retirement, he taught mathematics at Satellite High School from 1973 to 1979.

He was a member of St. David's By the Sea Church, Cocoa Beach, Florida; was a mason for 54 years and a member of Canaveral Lodge 339 F&AM, Cocoa Beach; Shriner of Azan Temple, Melbourne, Florida; Indian River Chapter 27 and Heranus Council 13, Royal & Accepted Masons, Brevard Commandery 24, Knights Templar, all of Cocoa Beach; Air Force and Air Weather associations; Canaveral Chapter 297, Order of Eastern Star, Cocoa Beach.

He was predeceased by his wives, Carol Alice (nee Johnson) Arbogast in 1977; and Lois Katherine (nee Mucklow) in 1992.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ida Mae Stephenson; daughter, Karin Cantrell and two grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Adams, Roswell, Georgia; and Dorthea Rockhill, New Jersey; and nieces and nephews.

Military graveside services were held on Friday, June 12, 1998, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pennsylvania, with the Rev. Elmer Davis officiating.
