Ethel Reed Armstrong was born 11 Jun 1889 in St David AZ. She lived on a ranch and in her later years she loved telling her grandchildren stories of growing up on the ranch and riding horses. Her parents were Herber Cortizs Reed and Louisa Sheen. Ethel married Lyle Vernon Tilton and had 2 children Ethel LaVerne and James Emmit Tilton/Armstrong. They divorced and Ethel went to Alberta Canada and met her 2nd husband Francis Armstrong and they married 11 Jan 1912. They had one child Henry C Armstrong. They stayed in Canada for several years but moved to Spokane Washington in hopes that the weather would be better for Ethel's health. They then moved to Kelso WA. Ethel or grandma was a wonderful grandmother and we all loved her. She loved her grandchildren and was a true friend to them. She was known for her knitting and crocheting skills. All grandchilden got a knitted blanket as a child and a crocheted table cloth for their wedding. She was greatly loved.
