Mr. Whitaker was the widower of Annie Roland Whitaker. Born June 11, 1922, in Lexington County, he was a son of Henry A. Whitaker and Ethel Gertrude Wise Whitaker. Mr. Whitaker was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He was a textile worker with Burlington Industries.

Mr. Whitaker is survived by his daughters, sisters, brothers, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife; daughters, Evelyn Gable and Brenda Spires.
