She was married at the age of 16 years to Shelby James Dane and died at age 32 years from Tuberculosis. This disease devastated families in Kern County. Shelby remarried and is buried with his 3nd wife in this same cemetery. Maudie was buried in the County Section but the family put a grave marker on her grave.
