Mrs. Carrie Golden, age 77, of Route Two Section passed away Thursday, June 22, 1961, following a short illness. She was a member of the Old Sardis Holiness Church she had lived in the New Canaan Community for the past 37 years.
Surviving are five sons, O.H. Golden of Chicago; Claud of Florida, Leonard of Section, William J. of Maryland and Leroy of Oregon; four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Sanders of Scottsboro, Mrs. Eva Sanders, Mrs. Myrtle Harper, and Miss Fannie Golden all of Section; 27 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest Keeton of Pisgah and Bill Keeton of Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Bradford of Pisgah and Mrs. Cordie Knight of Groveoak.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at New Canaan Baptist Church with Rev. C.R. Bailey officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Wilson Funeral Home directing.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
