Marlon Douglas Knight, age 84, died Thursday, Nov. 24 at his residence in Bogalusa. A member of Love Missionary Baptist Church, he was devoted to his family and church.
He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Bingham, Gayle Passman and Sherry Amacker, all of Bogalusa; two sons, Wayne Knight and special friend Marilyn Hymel, Paul Douglas "Pete" Knight Sr. and his wife Tammy, all of Lewisburg, Tenn.; one brother and sister-in-law, Eld. Lavell and Martha Knight of Bogalusa; 11 grandchildren, Michelle Amacker Ford, Rikki Amacker, Traci Amacker, Brandi Knight, Brandon Passman, Pete Knight Jr., Terrell Knight, Marlene Knight Pereira, Kyle Passman, Jessica Knight and Ashley Passman; one step-grandchild, Brian Moore; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellouise Knight; and one sister, Lucille Farmer.
Visitation was held Friday, Nov. 25 in Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5 to 10 p.m. and continued Saturday at 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating at the servce were Elds. Jerry Blackwell, Lavell Knight, Gynn Erwin, Virgil Skipper and Glay Galloway. Interment followed in Ponemah Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Elds. Donnie Barber, Doug Barber, Jimmy Barber, Rodney Graham, Douglas Graham and Billy Barber.
