Husband of 1st Violet C. Hubert, 2nd Catherine "Kay" Cowdrick, 3rd to Anna L. Harvey. Colonial in the Army and serviced in WWI and WWII. Wife Anna is buried underneith him. He is the son of Adam and Mabel Agness Knettle (nee Berry) both of Philadelphia, PA. He spent most of his life in Camden, NJ where in his early years he worked as a shipfitter at the ship yards.

Update: 2/20/2017 - Newly found information on additional wives of Leroy's father "Adam", all of whom died within just a few years of marriage before 1900 indicate that Mabel Berry may not be his biological mother. All these years I have had Leroy's delayed record of birth (Birth Certificate), that clearly lists Mabel as his mother so who would have questioned it? No one ever spoke of Adam being married before Mabel and all other records and family members show Mabel as his mother. The delayed birth certificate is recorded in 1953 at which time Leroy was about 53 years old. The only mother he ever knew was Mabel. Either she never told him that he was not her son, or Mabel never knew who his real mother was and adopted him as her own after his father died when he was just 5 years old. I suppose no one ever knew. To put this in perspective, Adam did not marry Mabel until around 1904 (Leroy would have been about 3 years old at the time). Adam was also married to Sara Budden in 1901 before his marriage to Mabel, however Sara is not Leroy's mother either. There is another wife of Adam that is missing? He married her likely in Cumberland or Gloucester Co., NJ between 1896 and 1900. This means that our biological ancestral line is not Berry? Or is his birth year wrong and he is Mabel's son?

If anyone finds who Adam married between 1896 and 1900, please reach out to me.
