JONES
Karen Jo Jones, daughter of John R. and Florence Fenley Dean, was born in Russell, July 4, 1940 and departed this life Wednesday, May 16, at her home in Waterloo.
Her early life was spent in Russell where she attended the Russell school and graduated from Russell High School. After graduating she worked in Des Moines for the Equitable Life Insurance Co.
On November 25, 1960 she united in marriage with Herbert E. Jones. Three children came to bless this home. Her entire life was spent in Russell, Des Moines, Clinton and Waterloo.
She was employed for two years at the River Hills School in Waterloo, was Associate Conductress of the Waterloo Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and at an early age was baptized and became a member of the Russell Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband Herb; two sons, Mark and Chris and one daughter, Lori, all of the home address; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dean, Russell; one brother, David Dean and his family, Des Moines; her mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Jones, Chariton; three sisters-in-law and families; Mr. and Mrs. Lester McKinley, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kent of Lucas and Mr. and Mrs. John Hutte of Texas; four brothers-in-law, Jack Jones, Jr. of Chariton, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jones and family, of Henderson, Kans., and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Jones and family, Knoxville; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jones and family, Mt. Top, Pa., and many other relatives and friends.
Eastern Star services and memorial services were held at the Kearns-Dykeman Chapel, Waterloo, May 18 with graveside services, May 19, at the Russell Cemetery.
