William Beaver Hudlow was my second great-grandfather and the eighth child of the eleven children of Michael Hudlow and Sarah "Sally" GOODE Hudlow.

He was the grandson of Andrew Hudlow and Barbara TANNER Hudlow and the great-grandson of Andrew Hudlow, Sr.

He was born in Rutherford County, North Carolina, as were all his siblings. However, his parents traveled with all but one of their children about 300 miles from North Carolina to the northern part of Georgia. (Dawson County) This is where all but one of their children were married, including William Beaver.

He married Margaret WILLIAMS on February 14, 1845. She had also been born in Rutherford County, North Carolina and her family had migrated to Georgia at the same time.

They were blessed with four children, all born in Dawson County, Georgia. They named their children, in order of birth, Sarah, William Wright (my great-grandfather), Alfred Webster, and Robert George Edmond Hudlow. Two of William Beaver's sons married GAROUTTE sisters in Howell County, Missouri. William Wright married Eliza Jane GAROUTTE and Alfred Webster married her sister, Rhoda Caroline GAROUTTE.

While most of William Beaver Hudlow's siblings stayed in the vicinity of Dawson County, Georgia, William Beaver took his family to Pottersville, Howell County, Missouri where many of my family still live today and where my father was born.

On the 1850 and the 1860 census, my second great-grandfather was in Dawson County, Georgia and on the 1870 and 1880 census, they were in Howell County, Missouri.

William Beaver Hudlow and his wife Margaret were certainly blessed with grandchildren as his son William Wright and his son's wife Eliza Jane had fourteen children themselves, one of them being my grandmother, Amanda Ullman HUDLOW Arnold.

William Beaver preceded his wife in death.

Besides his wife Margaret, William Beaver Hudlow was survived by his children, grandchildren, and many, many other family members and friends.

He was very much loved and missed by all who knew him.
