CARL W. BATTRICK
Funeral services for Carl W. Battrick, 1502 V Ave., La Grande, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dempsey's Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Paul O. Jewell, First Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Island City Cemetery. The retired owner of Carls Taxi Service, Battrick, 74, died at his home Saturday. He retired in 1961, and made his home in La Grande for a great many years. He was born Feb. 22, 1897, in Johnston, Ohio Trumbull County, the son of Ellsworth T. and Lizzie Battrick. He was preceded in death by his brother Holt Battrick who died Aug. 2, 1971. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Blanche Battrick, La Grande; a son John Battrick, Garibaldi, Ore.; a daughter Mrs. Lillian Goodwin, Tillamook; a brother Calvin Battrick, Great Falls, Mont.; a sister Mrs. James J. (Gladys) Abbott, Lewistown, Mont.; several grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
