She was very possibly the daughter of Daniel Gilman and Abigail (Sayer) Gilman of Exeter,NH.
NOTE: A record of a marriage of Oliver Avery and Abigail Gilman is found in Deerfield Vital Records. Gilman is a rare surname in Franklin County,Mass, and when it does appear in records there, it is well in to the 19th century. Abigail is given the maiden name of Sayer in Groton Avery Clan, and this has been assumed to be correct until the marriage record in Deerfield was found.... Sayer, in fact, may have been the maiden name of Abigail's mother. It is, of course, possible that Gilman may have been Abigail's surname by a prior marriage, but nothing yet has been found to support this.
Children: Lois Avery Benton, John Avery, Mary Avery Hawks, and Eunice Avery Avery.
