SHELBY — Mrs. Maxann Hamrick Greene, 69, of West Sumter Street, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Hospice at Wendover.
She was born in Cleveland County to the late J. Max Hamrick and Jatanna Gladden Hamrick. Maxann is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jimmy E. Greene.
She graduated from Gardner-Webb College with an associate degree in arts, and Cleveland Community College with a Licensed Practical Nursing diploma. Maxann formerly worked at Cleveland Regional Medical Center as a nurse and later retired from Cleveland County School System as a teacher assistant. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, member of the Bayliss Sunday School Class, member of Joan's Circle and served on the Congregational Care Committee.
Maxann loved genealogy and researching family history, also publishing a book on her family heritage. She enjoyed working on her computer and reading, but most of all she loved spending time with her loving husband, her daughter and her husband and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, a son, Todde Greene, and granddaughter, Ashley Binion, preceded her in death.
In addition to her husband, Maxann is survived by her daughter, Hope Greene Binion and husband, Scott, of Boiling Springs; and two grandchildren, Shelton and Johnson Binion.
Memorial service: Saturday at 11 a.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
