Leonard Mathew Braun, age 77, a resident of Pierz, MN, formerly of Grand Rapids, MI, died July 9, 1996 at his home in Pierz.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 13 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, with the Rev. Kenneth Brenny officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Leonard M. Braun was born September 30, 1918 in Buckman, Morrison County, MN to the late Peter and Agnes "Mueller" Braun. Leonard served in World War II and received the Purple Heart. He was united in marriage to Margaret Dahmen on April 27, 1946 in Detroit, MI. After the marriage he was employed at Alloy Tek in Grand Rapids, MI for 34 years. Leonard and Margaret made their home in Grand Rapids for 47 years before moving to Pierz three and a half years ago. He is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz.
Survivors include his wife Margaret; brother, Francis and wife Roselyn of Phoenix, AZ; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Aloys, Reinhart, Roland, John, Henry, Frederick and Celestine Braun, and a sister Adella Rastetter.
