S/Sgt. Savasta was aboard B-17F

Flying Fortress #42-29558, serving with

the 602 Bomb Squadron, 398 Bomb Group,

Rapid City Army Air Base.

He was one of ten airmen killed in the crash of

of the bomber, ten miles north of Rosebud,

South Dakota.

The airmen lost were:

2LT Terrell C Braly, Jr

2LT Harold Coblentz

SSGT Frank J Savasta

SGT Loyd H Beaty

SGT James T Considine

SGT Alvin L Kepley
