John Thomas Cornwell, 92, of McCaysville, GA, passed away at the Copper Basin Hospital Tuesday, November 13, 1962 following an extended illness.

He was born in Cherokee, NC and had made his home in Fannin County for the past 50 years. Mr. Cornwell was a member of the Buckhorn Baptist Church for a number of years.

Survivors include his widow Mrs. Lula Seabolt Cornwell; two daughters, Mrs. Virgil Patterson, Blue Ridge, Mrs. R. F. Chapman, Cherry Log, GA.; four sons Frank Cornwell, Dalton, GA, Charlie and Walter Cornwell, Calhoun, GA., Rev. Willard Cornwell, Cleveland, TN; five brothers, Will Cornwell, Lenoir City, Tenn., Oliver Cornwell, Route 2, Murphy, NC, Arthur Cornwell, Marble, NC, Hilton and Fulton, Scottdale, Ga, 36 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Buckhorn Baptist Church on Thursday, November 15, 1962. Interment was in the church cemetery.
