Hiram Willits Died At Oakland, Sunday

Hiram Willits, brother of George Willits, and a former resident of this city, died at his home in Oakland, Sunday, April 25, 1915, aged 52 years.

Hiram Willits was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, May 17, 1862. He came to Willits 31 years ago and lived here about 10 years. He was married to Mrs. Annie Hill several years before he moved to the Bay region, and she with two daughters and one son survives him. Besides these he leaves a mother, two brothers and two sisters.

The deceased was a namesake of Hiram Willits for whom this town was named. He was a man whom it was a pleasure to meet and whom it was a privilege to call a friend. A good father, a loving husband and a good friend has gone and the silent majority is the gainer by his demise.

The remains were brought up on the noon train Tuesday and were laid away in the old cemetery in the family plot. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.C. Whitaker and were held at the grave.
