Erie Beckham Mt Vernon
Erie Beckham, 101, of Jeffersonian Nursing Home, formerly of 1215 Jones St., died 7:50 p.m. Aug. 16, 1990, at Jeffersonian Nursing Home.
Mrs. Beckham was employed at the Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory for several years.
She was born Jan. 16, 1889, in Jefferson County, a daughter of S. H. Nad Mary Emmaline (Strain) Wilson. In 1907 in Jefferson County, she married Joe Beckham, who died in 1953.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Grant Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in South Hickory Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Beckham is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Denham of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Mrs. Opal Wells and Mrs. Mildred Kries, both of San Diego; five grandchildren, Betty Jean Brown, JoEllen Campbell, Donald Denham, Neva Holstein and Sandra Kissner; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Beckham was a member of South Hickory Hill Christian Church.
In addition to her husband, shd was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter.
