Lilly was the daughter of Elisha Gaither and Mary Parker Botterill. She was born in Howard Co, Maryland and lived in the same area all her life.
My great-grandma Grauel died when I was nine, so I don't remember much about her. She was a tiny woman, but raised a family of eight, five of them boys. I remember a very strong willed woman until she declined.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulton, MD at least from her marriage until her death. Here is a clipping of her obituary that I found in my Grandmothers collection:
