Christian Charles "Chris" Cook was born on March 23, 1879 in Ross Prarie, Fayette Co. to Dietrich Frederich (Richard or "Dick") Cook and Louise Katherine "Lizzie" Aschenbeck Cook. He moved to Lavaca Co. with his parents and lived in that county most of his life.

He married Annie Boehm on 11-25-1902 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton.
