Massena -- Barnett Justice Browning, 72, widely known horseman, died at his farm home about six miles up the St. Lawrence river from Massena at 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He had suffered from rheumatism.
Mr. Browning was born November 15, 1865, in the house in which he died. He was the son of George and Sarah Harriman Browning. On April 13, 1887 he married Miss Anna Matthews, Louisville. Mr. and Mrs. Browning celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last fall.
He is survived by four children, Mrs. Thomas McNish, Lynn, Ontario, George, Harry and Samuel, all of Louisville; his widow; one sister, Mrs. Amelia Ann Browning Andrews, North Tonawanda; one half-sister, Mrs. A.W. Story, North Tonawanda and 12 grandchildren.
