David Jack Adkins, of Branchland, WV, born March 26, 1938, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at St. Marys Medical Center in Huntington, WV at the age of 70 years old. He was the son of the late Mathias and Dollie (Dequaise) Adkins and was also preceded in death by one sister; Bula Adkins, six brothers, Conward Adkins, Raymond (Shorty) Adkins, Guy Adkins, Mathias (Speedy) Adkins, Dean Adkins and Dewane (Mickey) Adkins, one special brother-in-law; David Lovejoy. He was a retired mail carrier.
He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law; Andrew and Glenda Adkins of Sias, WV, two sisters and brother-in-law; Fredith and Winford Adkins of Sias, WV, and Flora Mae Lovejoy of Palermo, WV, three sisters-in-law; Dorothy Adkins, Freda Adkins, both of East Liverpool, OH, and Geraldine Gue of Lesage, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services were held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV with the Rev. K.D. Bragg and Rev. Eugene Byrd officiating. Interment followed in Goldsbury Cemetery, Sias, WV. Visitation was held from 6pm to 8pm Friday, July 25, 2008 at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV.
